Interventions for Inclusion
At Thrive we understand the school inclusion needs and offer 1:1 and small group workshops to cater for every individual
Ralphie, our support dog
For some children, even sport feels like too much. That's where Ralphie comes in. Instead of sport being the way in, sessions with Ralphie the Super Dog give children a different route to explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions — through learning how to care for and support him, one-to-one or in a small group.
His availability is limited, so he's not part of every session - but where he can join, it's often the gentlest way in for a child who needs one.
Personal development interventions
For some children, a full class can feel overwhelming - making it hard to reflect honestly on their own feelings and behaviour.
Personal circumstances or additional needs can make a one-to-one session, or a small group, feel far more manageable: safer, less stimulating, and with much more direct contact time with a coach.
This delivery format is available across every one of our programmes.
Fully inclusive sport
PE should work for every child, not just the ones who find it easy. For pupils with SEND, or those who need extra support to build core skills and confidence, small group or one-to-one sessions give the space and pace to progress without feeling left behind in a busy class setting.
For children who are already excelling, the same format works the other way - genuine stretch and challenge, extension work that keeps them engaged rather than coasting through a curriculum pitched at the middle.
Whichever end of the spectrum a child sits at, the goal is the same: making sure every pupil gets the most out of PE, not just the ones it was easiest to teach.
